Make Halloween Costume has great ideas, props, accessories and information about making your own fun, inexpensive costumes!

Pies, brownies, fried chicken and Halloween costumes all have one thing in common – they are much better when they are homemade.

However, like pies, brownies and fried chicken, you cannot actually MAKE the materials at home. They have to come from somewhere … unless you live on a farm, grow your own wheat and take it down to your mill on the stream and spin and dye your own fabric, but we probably made our point on the chocolate part. And if you grow and make your own chocolate in the U.S. – can we come and visit?

The best thing about making your own Halloween costumes and outfits at home is that you can do as little or as much of the work as you want. If you want to do it all, fire away! You probably don’t need any help.

If you like to sew and make every bit of the costume from scratch, the best place to start is with good, high-quality Halloween Costumes and Uniform Patterns. A good pattern is half the battle when making your own Halloween costume at home.

You can find some very season appropriate and Unique Halloween Fabrics from which to make your homemade Halloween costume. You can use fabric colors to fit the costume, from one shade to animal fur prints, or Halloween-themed to sew your own tops, pajamas, etc.

But you can also create as little or as much of the base costume as you desire, and then use various accessories and props to finish your look. For instance, you can use old clothes of sundry types to make cool outfits for a pirate, a zombie or even a soldier. But it can be tough to make a pirate hat or an army helmet yourself, and with the help of a makeup kit, you can add realistic grime for a pirate or soldier and dead person look for a zombie. And of course, your average pirate wouldn’t be caught dead without a sword or flintlock pistol, an eye patch or hand hook or maybe even a parrot, and ditto for arming your soldier, barring the parrot and eye patch part, of course. The zombie can carry any item common to the type of dead person he or she is, like a zombie cheerleader might have pom-poms or a megaphone, a zombie parking enforcement officer might have a cap and ticket book, etc.

It is very easy to supplement your outfit when you opt to make a Halloween costume. Here Make Halloween Costume offers some ideas, and remember the headlines and photos will ferry you away to where you need to go!
